Telepractice & In-Person Service

Telepractice

Assessment, treatment, and consultative services are provided to all residents of British Columbia and Alberta through PIPA-compliant Telepractice service.

  • Telepractice is speech and language therapy that is provided online (i.e., through a computer or device). Online services may include assessment, intervention, and/or consultation.

Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) endorses the use of Telepractice in both speech-language pathology and audiology as a means of improving access to services provided by fully qualified professionals. Click here for more info.

  • All that is needed for online therapy is a computer with a webcam, microphone, speakers, and access to the internet. Our therapy program includes providing targeted speech therapy and/or orofacial myofunctional therapy techniques, visual supports, resources, and exercises to be worked on in between sessions.

As your privacy and personal information is important to us, our services are secure, and our clinic management system meets Federal and Provincial privacy standards.

  • • Online sessions are a great way to access services while staying safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    • It gives therapists access to clients who may otherwise not come to an office due to remote location or illness.

    • Telepractice reduces travel time to and from the office and eliminates transportation related costs for clients.

    • Many clients find it easier to make and keep Telepractice appointments as there is no transportation needed and online sessions often fit better within busy schedules.

    • Some younger clients respond more positively to the computer-based activities and games then they do in a face-to-face interaction.

•Sessions are fun and engaging through online activities and games.

    • Telepractice makes individualized programming and convenient delivery options more accessible.

    • Increased access to therapy also benefits families, teachers, and SLPs in terms of communication with one another, speed of service delivery, and decreased travel.

    • Research has shown Telepractice to be an effective, alternative option for service.
